The Spandakarika, or “Tantric Song of the Divine Pulsation,” is one of the most important Tantric texts in the tradition of Kashmiri Shaivism. The oldest masters of Spandakarika viewed everything in the universe as consciousness and created a yoga practice in accordance with this realization. This sacred dance blends Tantra philosophy, consciousness, movement (spine-opening, heart-opening, pelvic-opening) of the emotional body, visualization, and breathwork to connect you with your inner Spanda, (Sanskrit for ” vibrationless vibration or motionless movement “) which is the subtle, creative pulse of the universe around us, from twinkling stars, to the rise and fall of the breath, to the tides of the ocean… You will explore spine, heart-opening, pelvic opening movements and focus on connection to your breath, to align your body to the creative forces and experience the physical expression of Spanda.

In this practice, we witness ourselves as we are mirrored by others in a group, and this has a profound impact on the individual, as well as the group. Witnessing ourselves, as well as each other, support our capacity to embrace and embody movements individually and collectively.

This practice class is Solo and Partnered.
